About The Blog

My Blog

My scattered thoughts might take us anywhere. I post original fiction, Star Wars, and Star Trek models, and everything in between. I hope you'll like the blog as much as I like posting to it!

Let us begin: Welcome to my little online niche, where I have carefully curated many things that interest me. Thank you for visiting.

My blog was created, primarily, for me. It is maintained by me and for me. I use it to publish various things that serve no other purpose than to amuse me. I'm obviously not a professional blogger. Nor am I hoping to use this blog in business of any sort. Again, it exists only to amuse yours truly. If I like what I post, that's good enough.

I also use this blog to help me improve my ability to think, as I don't function as well as I once did. I'm still trying to recover from a stroke I had several years ago (2016). I thought that blogging might be helpful in my ongoing recovery.

All of my flash fiction and short stories are © 2024-2027, Lonestar Hobby Blog. I am the author and owner of all original writing that appears on this blog.

Any picture specifically named, "Author's Picture," "Author's Photo," or something similar was taken by me and is hereby in the public domain. Anything attributed to "AI" is likewise in the public domain. If you need to cite something as a source, use the blog name or the name(s) Lonestar, Ren Adama, or 141 Productions.

141 Productions

Occasionally, you might see "141 Press & Productions" appearing in a post or as a tag. This is the title I'll use for press endeavors and potential public interest information. I'll also use it while conducting First Amendment protected activities.

Pictures taken by NASA, the US Navy, and other branches of the (U.S.) government are in the public domain.

This blog is always under construction. Unless there is some emergency, or it is the holiday season, it is updated daily. However, my posts are set to auto-update, and I occasionally overlook a day. The blog is often enhanced by the use of AI and Grammarly.

In the future, you may (or may not) see advertisements on my blog, probably from Google or Amazon. If you click on them, I may receive compensation of some kind. I will never ask you to click on the ads.

I typically don't communicate with people unless I have met them in person. As mentioned, I'm still recovering from a stroke that I had several years ago. I really struggle to communicate, and interacting with a stranger bothers me badly. I still suffer from aphasia, and I have persistent numbness on my left side. I often walk with a cane.

It can take me some time to form coherent thoughts. This is another reason that I don't like to communicate. It can take days to write a blog post. It took days to write, proofread, and create this page.

When I get some content and start working on SEO (and possibly begin receiving comments), I may turn off the ability to comment on my blog posts, if that's possible. Edit: I did it.

That being said, I have added a simple contact form to the blog just in case. Sometimes that particular page loads slowly, so be forewarned. From the contact page, you can send me a message and I also ask three questions about Sci-fi interests. I'm curious to know what franchises people like, or if they like them all.

I don't use social media of any kind, though I do look at it occasionally. Edit: I'm now, occasionally, using Imgur.

I have lived and worked all over Texas and Oklahoma.

Current Work Status: Medically retired.

This blog is always under construction.

About Me

I'm an Army vet. I served from 1987-1992. I worked stateside during Desert Storm. I was never called on to go overseas. I worked in the maintenance section of the 3rd Battalion 18th Field Artillery. I spent much of my time at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. My days in the army allowed me the opportunity to travel to many different places, all in the U.S. Last time I checked, the 3rd of the 18th had been disbanded. By that time, I had transferred to another unit and had a job with the civil service. That is probably what kept me from seeing combat.

I have a master's degree (in theology; but I don't discuss theology). I enjoy genealogy, reading, and taking pictures. Sometimes I write flash fiction, and I spend much of my time writing weird fiction, just for fun. I didn't say that I was good at it, but it is fun. I'm not a stranger to the kitchen, either - I can cook just about anything. Give me a recipe and I'll fix it up! And, of course, I'm a fan of H.P. Lovecraft, Texas history, Star Trek, and Star Wars.

In my years on earth, I've had several hobbies. The first one was when I was a child, collecting seashells. I guess I outgrew it, and I don't know how I had the hobby in the first place. I grew up as landlocked as possible. I didn't see the ocean (Gulf of Mexico) until I was in my late 30s.

The second hobby I remember is collecting Hot Wheels vehicles. I don't remember how many I owned; it probably wasn't too many. My brother, cousin, and I were in competition to see who owned the most vehicles. I don't know who had more, but today I have the most. I own hundreds of Hot Wheels vehicles. My brother and cousin are grown and focused on their careers, while I'm still a big kid at heart.

I've always been fascinated by antiques. I once cried over books. Well, I cried because I wanted some books, but my family didn't have the means to buy them. Today, I have thousands of books, both in hardcopy and digital formats.

I've always been fascinated by ships of all kinds. I never saw any until I was grown and got a job near Galveston. For the first time, I picked up seashells and saw container and cruise ships. The word "awesome" is probably overused, but seeing such things was amazing. Once, I even got to ride on a rare river-going steamboat called The Graceful Ghost. Its home port, at that time, was near Jefferson, Texas, at Caddo Lake. Last I heard of the Ghost, it had failed a Coast Guard inspection and was no longer in operation. I added a picture and post about the boat here.

I used to like assembling model ships. It eventually got to where my eyesight wasn't as good as it used to be, and the stroke I had left me with shaky hands.

I like collecting Star Trek movies and collectibles. I started this blog to post pictures of said collectibles. I also like Star Wars and REALLY loved it when I was a little kid. Star Wars first came out at the theater when I was about 10 years old. I don't have very many Star Wars collectibles, but I'm working on it.

Funny, but when I was a boy, I hated Star Trek (this was the original series). If it came on TV, I found something else to do. I thought it was the most boring thing ever. I preferred Scooby-Doo and the Super Friends.

I enjoy watching the new Star Trek media that comes out on TV. I'm currently watching Star Trek Discovery and I've recently obtained The Original Series. I've never seen it in its entirety. Time to change that.

I'm also watching the new Star Wars Acolyte series (it was canceled). I'm rewatching Ahsoka on Disney+, and I'm watching Alien Earth for the first time. While some didn't like Acolyte because it's produced by Disney, I did like it. I admit that I found one series that didn't really hold my interest (Boba Fett), but in general, I like them all. I also like much of the Marvel media, though I haven't watched all of it - yet. I also watched Star Wars: The Skeleton Crew. I didn't think I was going to like it after watching the first episode, but I do.

What's next to watch? I'm going to start watching some of the Star Wars animated shows and continue my journey on Disney+. Peace be upon you.
