Five Days in North Korea

NORTH KOREA — 5 Days Inside The Most ISOLATED Country (Episode 2) 북한의 삶

From the channel of Explore & Discover.

Our favorite Russian bloggers explore the DPRK, or North Korea, for five days.

"An exclusive look at North Korea, the world’s most closed-off country. Life here is isolated from the outside world and every aspect of existence is regulated by order of the "Great Leader", from the art you’re allowed to see, the books you can read, even to your hairstyle. The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea is perhaps the least known country in the world today. Based on a political ideology known as ‘Juche’, the socialist government controls every source of information and the national leader, Kim Jong-un, preserves the peace and defends the state’s historical, spiritual and cultural heritage. From childhood, they are taught to be loyal to their leader and to beware of western values. For most viewers North Korea remains a mystery but this unique film offers a limited window of opportunity to view Korean lifestyle through the prism of North Korean peoples’ every day cares and joys." Mind-Blowing Life of a Kamikaze

"Mind-Blowing Life of a Kamikaze"

An interesting reel about Kamikaze activity.

A futile endeavor, but many men volunteered for the "honor." They were young men, very young, but they gave their lives for their country. Read more about these men here.

Baylan Skol and Shin Hati

The video shows two characters from the Ahsoka series, Season One. The character of Baylan Skoll was portrayed by the late Irish actor Ray Stevenson. His apprentice, Shin Hati, was portrayed by Ukrainian actor Ivanna Sakhno. I have a miniature of Hati and her ship in my collection. Sakhno also portrayed AMELIA in 2025's M3GAN 2.0.

German Female POW

"They Told Us to Close Our Eyes" — German Women POWs Shocked by What Came Next

From the channel of WWII Hidden Courage.

"They were told the Americans would be monsters—cruel, merciless, and vengeful—but when 847 German women stepped onto U.S. soil as prisoners of war in September 1945, everything they believed shattered. Expecting starvation, humiliation, and punishment, they were instead met with hot showers, fresh uniforms, clean beds, and the smell of freshly baked bread. This powerful true story follows Greta Hartmann, a young radio operator from Berlin, as she and hundreds of other German women struggled to reconcile years of Nazi propaganda with the shocking kindness shown to them inside American POW camps. From the moment they arrived—terrified and broken—to their first hot meal, warm bed, and simple acts of humanity from their so-called enemies, their worldviews crumbled. This video reveals their emotional journey through guilt, survival, inner conflict, and transformation as they witnessed the compassion of the enemy while their own families starved back home in a ruined Germany. It is a story not of battles, but of dignity, mercy, and the painful realization that kindness can break a person more deeply than cruelty. If you’re passionate about untold World War II stories, human psychology, emotional historical narratives, and the hidden experiences of women in war, this video will stay with you long after it ends. Don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe for more forgotten stories of WWII and the human truths they reveal." Source: WWII Hidden Courage.

Night On Deth Mountain

Night On Deth Mountain

From the channel of Intercept Media.

I lost track of this video for a long time and only recently discovered it again. I will not lose it again. This video mixes Fantasia's (1940) "Night on Bald Mountain" (Disney) with a brutal technical death metal performance by Nile. The Nile song is entitled "The Opening of the Mouth." "The Opening of the Mouth ceremony was a crucial ancient Egyptian ritual aimed at restoring the senses of the deceased, enabling them to function in the afterlife." Source: Ancient Egypt Online.

October and Gloomy

It's raining and gloomy today at the Lonestar Compound. It's in the 50s outside. I took a brief video of the north and east of the property while it was raining. I had a dream about that far-off tree line to the northeast. In the dream, I saw a tentacled mass moving north just alongside the tree line. I might work that dream into a story at some point. Today I saw a white figure, briefly, when I was in the living room. I understood immediately that it was a hallucination. I speak to my VA doctor about that regularly.

I've been looking through my antique and vintage dishes. I had a gorgeous green pitcher that dated to the depression era. Being ignorant, I poured extremely hot liquid into it. It cracked and broke immediately. Another platter that I had was accidentally dropped. It broke into pieces while I was outside cooking on the grill. That was when I lived in Longview, Texas. I've broken many antiques in an attempt to use them. Those instances took place many years ago. I guess you never forget it, and I sure hate that I was careless.

Happy Halloween from the Lonestar Crew. I remember when I was young and my mom took us trick-or-treating. It was always chilly, sometimes sprinkling rain. That's what it's been doing all day here. I hope youngsters can stay dry and warm when the candy day arrives. Peace to you and yours.
