Seether by Veruca Salt

Veruca Salt - Seether (Glastonbury '95)

From the channel of malmal2006.

Veruca Salt, according to the Urban Dictionary, is a term for a sweet or pleasant girl who is really a tantrum-throwing person. The band was formed in 1992 by Nina Gordon and Louise Post. Veruca Salt is an alternative rock band. For some reason, I had been unaware of this band for years. They really are a talented group.

Lyrics

[Intro: Nina Gordon]

Ow!

[Verse 1: Nina Gordon]

Seether is neither loose nor tight

Seether is neither black nor white

[Pre-Chorus 1: Nina Gordon & Louise Post]

I try to keep her on a short leash

I try to calm her down

I try to ram her into the ground, yeah

[Chorus: Nina Gordon & Louise Post]

Can't fight the seether

Can't fight the seether

Can't fight the seether

I can't see her 'til I'm foaming at the mouth

[Verse 2: Nina Gordon & Louise Post]

Seether is neither big nor small

Seether is the center of it all

[Pre-Chorus 2: Nina Gordon & Louise Post]

I try to rock her in my cradle

I try to knock her out

I try to cram her back in my mouth, yeah

[Chorus: Nina Gordon & Louise Post]

Can't fight the seether (Seether)

Can't fight the seether (Seether)

Can't fight the seether

I can't see her 'til I'm foaming at the mouth

[Bridge: Nina Gordon & Louise Post]

Keep her down, boiling water

Keep her down, what a lovely daughter

Oh, she is not born like other girls

But I know how to conceive her

Oh, she may not look like other girls

But she's a snarl-toothed seether, seether!

[Guitar Solo: Louise Post]

[Chorus: Nina Gordon & Louise Post]

Can't fight the seether (Seether)

Can't fight the seether (Seether)

Can't fight the seether

I can't see her 'til I'm foaming at the mouth

[Outro: Nina Gordon & Louise Post]

Seether

Can't fight the seether

Seether

Can't fight the seether

Seether

Can't fight the seether

I can't see her till I'm foaming at the mouth, yeah

Sound of Music Flashmob

Sound of Music | Central Station Antwerp (Belgium)

From the channel of Matthias De Boeck.

It's an old and grainy video, but still great. Enjoy.

"More than 200 dancers were performing their version of 'Do Re Mi', in the Central Station of Antwerp. with just 2 rehearsals they created this amazing stunt! Those 4 fantastic minutes started the 23 of march 2009, 08:00 AM. It is a promotion stunt for a Belgian television program, where they are looking for someone to play the leading role, in the musical of 'The Sound of Music'." Source: Matthias De Boeck.

The video focuses primarily on the attack led by Admiral Raddus. It'll always be a good scene. It's hard to believe that this movie is (I think) a little more than a decade old.

The Loss of The SS Vestris

Ship Wrecks The Sinking Of The SS Vestris

From the channel of Old Shipping lines.

On the twelfth day of November, 1928, the SS Vestris sank in the Atlantic Ocean. She was overloaded and her hatches were not secured. On the eleventh of November she encountered a storm that was so severe that she began to list (lean) to starboard (right side of the vessel). Over 100 people were lost in the accident. This accident is notable not only because of the death toll, but also because the disaster was photographed by pantryman (a butler) Fred Hanson.

The Grinch

The Grinch scaring kids away

From the channel of Pij_jia.

My wife loves the Grinch. I've always been creeped out by him. I remember being afraid of some dolls when I was very young. Not all, but some. I did, however, have a teddy bear that I couldn't sleep without. His name was "Little Green Teddy." The kids in this video are definitely spooked by the Grinch.

The Loss of the SS El Faro

MYSTERY in the BERMUDA TRIANGLE: The El Faro Tragedy

From the channel of Autentic Documentary.

I think I may share/repost several videos about the El Faro, because the accident was such an avoidable tragedy. It should probably be noted here that the sinking of the SS El Faro has little to do with the mysterious Bermuda Triangle. The ship disappeared near the eye of Hurricane Joaquin in the morning on October 1, 2015. I remember hearing about this ship on the news. There's not much that's mysterious about the sinking. Most of the blame was placed on the ship's master. The ship's wreck position is known and it has been surveyed. Its VDR (Voice Data Recorder) was retrieved and studied. A VDR is the maritime version of the "black box" that is found on an airplane. The vessel lies about three miles (4,570 meters) below the Atlantic Ocean. No one survived the disaster.

"The wreckage of El Faro lies at a depth of between 15,318 and 15,482 feet (4,719 to 4,669 meters) in the Atlantic Ocean, about 20 nm northeast of Samana Cay. The primary underwater debris field, which includes the main hull and ship structure, covers an area of about 0.7 square mile (1.8 square kilometers) between latitudes 23.3786N and 23.3936N and longitudes 73.9061W and 73.9172W. Cargo containers, other cargo items, and some ship’s equipment and rails were found outside the primary debris field. Inside the primary field were the remains of El Faro’s port lifeboat; some of its cargo (about 40 containers and 7 vehicles); the main hull and the structures that separated from it, including the mast (with attached VDR), the exhaust stack, the bridge and the deck below it; and a few unidentified items." El Faro on Wikipedia.

Read an account of the sinking on the Statesman Journal.

Read an account of Danielle Randolph's life and career on Maine Maritime Academy. I think this young lady would have been, in the future, a great captain. If the captain had listened to her (and others), this accident might have been avoided.

5 Facts About Graveyards and Cemeteries

Why graves face the east

From the channel of Rick Watson.

1. In Christian tradition, burials are arranged so that the head is in the west, and the feet are to the east. This relates to the second coming of Christ, who will return from the east. Those buried in such a position will sit up, facing the returning Christ. See Rick Watson explain this in the above video.

2. A cemetery and a graveyard are the same thing. However, it is generally stated that a graveyard is a small burial area located near a church. This is not entirely accurate, as I have seen burial grounds next to churches that are called cemeteries (Merriam-Webster).

3. Some Native American burials involved interring the deceased beneath an earthen mound. I have seen many of these burials; some unknown to the public, and some well-known.

4. Not every grave marker is oriented in the west-east position. I have seen some facing the southeast. The Jane Chandler Gill burial near the Red River in Texas is oriented north-south. This, however, is because the lady's gravestone has been removed from its original location.

5. A cenotaph is a marker that honors someone who is not buried at the marker's location (Microsoft Copilot).

Snow Miser Theme Song

I'm Mr. White Christmas (Snow Miser Song) - 4K Remastered

From the channel of Julian Lachniet.

I hope you're ready for Christmas, because it's coming whether you're ready or not. This video is the snow miser song from the 1974 Christmas TV special, The Year Without a Santa Claus. I remember this song from when I was very young. It aired every December as part of the seasonal Christmas programming.

Back then, we had no cell phones, no cable, and no way to stream anything. VCRs weren't even invented. I looked forward to watching this show every time it aired. We had a 19" color TV and only got two channels, ABC and NBC. They were channels three and six; I'll never forget it. My brother and I served as the remote control. I don't think they even had remote controls back then. I still enjoy the show and the stop motion animation of the old days.
