Loth-cat - Author's Collection

Loth cats are cat-like creatures with some avian characteristics. They come from the planet Lothal. Unfortunately, I accidentally ruined the box while removing the figure. It's from The Bounty Collection, series 7.

Baby Yoda Keychain
Baby Yoda Keychain - Author's Picture

I bought this keychain for my wife as one of her Mother's Day gifts. It came from Amazon, and it was too expensive. However, her last keychain broke, and I wanted to replace it.

Balutar Swoop and Death Watch Mandalorian Unboxing

Balutar Swoop and Death Watch Mandalorian Unboxing
Balutar Swoop and Death Watch Mandalorian Unboxing

This is a Micro Galaxy Squadron Mystery Vehicle and Figure, specifically a Micro Galaxy Squadron Mystery Box Series 5 - Balutar Swoop and Death Watch Mandalorian. It's a "blind box," meaning you don't know what it is until you open it. It features a Balutar Swoop and a Death Watch Mandalorian. I currently have six of these mystery boxes. Unfortunately, some were the same - and that's why I don't like blind mystery boxes.

Kindle Fire Unboxing

Kindle Fire Box
A Giant Box

I lost my old Fire one night (I guess) when I was having a spell of low blood pressure. I wasn't sure where I was at or why I was collapsing. I only knew that I was stumbling around. That night, I ended up falling onto an electric heater and getting a third-degree burn on my left arm. I assume that was the same night that I lost my Kindle. Again, I have no idea. My family and I have scoured the bedroom where I kept it, but thus far we haven't found it. Finally, I gave up and bought a new one. The box they shipped it in was large. It could've held five Kindles.

Kindle Fire Box
The Real Box

I received the Fire on March 18. The box inside the box is 14" tall and 8" wide. Did I mention that the Amazon delivery person left my package at the wrong address?

Finally, a picture of the unboxed Fire. It has a 10.1" screen. It also has 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage. I plan on getting a SD card to increase the storage.

Flitknot Speeder Bike and a Geonosian Warrior Unboxing

Micro Galaxy Squadron Mystery Box
Micro Galaxy Squadron Mystery Box

This post shows the unboxing of a "Micro Galaxy Squadron Mystery Vehicle & Figure."

This set is from series 5. The Micro Galaxy Squadron Mystery Vehicle & Figure set is a "blind box," meaning you don't know what it is until you open it. This one features a Flitknot speeder bike and a Geonosian warrior. I bought six of these mystery boxes. Unfortunately, some were the same - and that's why I don't like blind mystery boxes. I repackaged the set and will display it in the box. I never open anything in my collection. I only opened these because I had no choice.

NED-B Action Figure Unboxing

February Unboxing
February Unboxing - NED-B

NED-B Action Figure
NED-B Action Figure - Author's Collection

This unboxing took place on February 17, 2025. NED-B was a droid (humanoid I suppose) who made his first and evidently last appearance in the Obi-Wan Kenobi television series. He was not capable of speech. He was called a "loader."

I had assumed immediately that NED-B was the droid equivalent of something like what we'd call a forklift. A bit of research confirmed that fact. I have several thoughts about NED-B. Firstly, he was protective and loyal. Second, he's intimidating and a bit scary. Who'd want to try to fight NED-B? Unarmed, it would be a losing proposition. The action figure doesn't have a blaster, but he does come with a hammer.

Chopper

Chopper Droid
C1-10P "Chopper" - Author's Collection

A couple of days ago we finished our Christmas shopping and I picked up a package called The Bounty Collection. Inside was the droid C1-10P who is also known as Chopper and Chop. Chopper is probably best known from the animated Star Wars Rebels. He is described as being "cantankerous." The figure above is in a fixed position. He appears to be performing a "tipping of the hat" action.

Dengar Retro Collection

Dengar Figure Bounty Hunter
Dengar - Author's Collection

Dengar is a name that I hadn't thought about in years. I didn't notice him in The Empire Strikes Back, and I don't think he was in any other movies. He appears in stories, but I don't know if they're canon or not. I do remember what I thought about the action figure, and it's the same thing as I think about Dengar. The figure (and character) was both ominous and creepy - unsettling and maybe even a little bit spooky. I didn't really like the action figure, but I had to have one since I had to have all things Star Wars. Well, if it was cheap enough to buy with my five dollar allowance. I don't know why it never occurred to me to save up my money - Except for the fact that I was a child.

According to various sources, Dengar was a human Corellian male. He was from the same planet, or at least the same system, as Han Solo. He thought of himself as something of a "lady's man," and enjoyed flirting with women. He was a bounty hunter, and he preferred using violent tactics. It's said that his space vessel did not contain the space to transport a living bounty (no confinement cell), as his quarries were always eliminated. When it came to "dead or alive," he chose the former. Dengar's ship was a modified Corellian transport ship called The Punishing One.

IG-88 Retro Collection

IG-88 Droid
IG-88 - Author's Collection

The IG-88 Incident

The IG-88 incident occurred after 1980 (I guess) when Kenner released the action figures. It had to take place in or shortly after 1980 because The Empire Strikes Back release date was 1980.

I remember the event well because it took place on my younger brother's birthday. On my birthday and his, mom and dad always grilled hamburgers and hot dogs. My mom's sister and her family would always come too. If I'm not mistaken, we always had homemade ice cream for dessert, as well as birthday cake.

In those days, a Star Wars action figure cost (at Wal-Mart) $3.14. The only other place that carried them was Kmart, and I don't even know if they exist anymore. On the morning of my brother's birthday, I was in town with my mom. I don't remember where my brother was. Anyway, at Walmart, I bought myself an IG-88 action figure with my allowance. Let me stress here that I absolutely LOVED that droid. Note: We always got $5 a week, each, for an "allowance." I always hated that it wasn't enough to buy two action figures, and there was no talking Mom into giving us more - I tried. ✊

I opened my package on the way home. Later, before the festivities, I showed my brother my prized IG-88. A look of wonder came over his face. In a small, pleading voice that was full of awe, he said, "Ohhhh Ren...is he MINE?" I assume he thought so because it was his birthday. And I had no intention of giving it to him, but...

I fell for the sad puppy dog act (if it was indeed an act) and I let him have my prized toy. To this day, decades later, I still regret it. I still remember how much I valued that toy, even though it was just a piece of plastic. Understandable, I guess, since even though I was the "big brother," I was almost certainly a preteen myself.

Well, now I'm in the driver's seat, once again. And I have IG-88. For clarity, it is officially the IG-88B. Something may happen to it. It might get misplaced. It might get stolen. For now, it's going on my shelf with my other collectibles, and I can promise with 100% certainty that I will never ever give it away. Edit: I MIGHT be convinced to give it to my grandchild one day (don't have any yet). My daughter will eventually end up with it because I plan on leaving all my personal possessions to her when I leave this world.

Nostalgia, euphoria, and pride are the keywords that describe me and my relation to this great internet find.

The figure is part of "The Empire Strikes Back Retro Collection." It's a bounty hunter two-pack. The other figure is Dengar, who will be the subject of a later post. Both IG-88 and Dengar were notorious bounty hunters.

IG-88 was an IG-series assassin droid created by Holowan Laboratories. He was part of a group of assassin droids that plotted to kill all biological life forms.

The Empire Strikes Back Retro Collection

Star Wars Retro Collection
Star Wars Retro Collection - Author's Collection

Unboxing Five

The back of the box reads:

"Dengar is an effective bounty hunter preferring firepower to finesse and style. And IG-88 is a chrome war droid turned bounty hunter who answered the call to capture the Millennium Falcon."

I bought the above package from Amazon with Amazon gift cards. The box is not worn or weathered - it's designed to look that way. It contains two action figures. The action figures are from Star Wars The Empire Strikes Back. I had (or sort of had or maybe shared) both figures when I was a little boy, in the early 1980's. This set was fairly cheap, a little over $23 if I'm not mistaken. However, it is much more expensive than it was in the 1980s. Back then, individual figures cost $3.14 per figure.

Tonight, I will unbox and take a couple of pictures of the set. Beginning tomorrow, I will show the individual characters. I was hit with many memories when I found this set. As can be seen in the box, they are IG-88 and Dengar, bounty hunters from The Empire Strikes Back.

Unboxing 4

Millennium Falcon Keychain
Millennium Falcon Keychain - Author's Picture

I had a large version of the Millennium Falcon when I was a child. It was big enough to fit action figures into the cockpit. My brother and I even had the Han Solo and Chewbacca figures to go in it. The picture is of my current keychain. I found it on Temu.

Unboxing 2

Boushh Hot Wheels Car
Hot Wheels - Boushh - Author's Collection

In package #1 I got a Princess Leia Organa (Boushh) vehicle by Hot Wheels. As I recall, Leia disguised herself as a bounty hunter, Boushh, to infiltrate Jabba The Hutt's palace. I wanted this vehicle, and I saw it in two different dollar stores. For whatever reason, I didn't buy it, then when I looked again it was not available. I ordered this one from Amazon. The only problem I have with this vehicle is that the corner of the packaging is peeling off. I'm going to get some Elmer's Glue and try to fix it.

Unboxing 1

UPS Package
Unboxing - Author's Picture

I have and have ordered a few things that I plan on making "unboxing" or "unpackaging" posts. This is the first package. I'll open it and reveal the contents tomorrow.

Tomorrow, I have two doctor's appointments. They are about 1.5 hours away. With all the back trouble I've been having, I hope I can handle the ride. See y'all tomorrow.
