"Between 1890 and 1910, horror arrived in the town of Black River Falls, Wisconsin. Black River Falls had been a pleasant, thriving, small Midwestern town. Then the mines and lumber industries shut down, leaving people unemployed, ultimately causing the banks to fail as well. The cold and bleak Midwest winters and the threat of starvation added to the blight, and talk of witchcraft and devil worship circulated among the residents. Diseases spread and many turned to alcohol for comfort. In this 20-year period, the seemingly doomed residents of Black River Falls succumbed to a downward spiral of suicide, murder, destruction, and darkness."

It never occurred to me that stating that there is no absolute truth is actually stating an absolute truth. I think I first heard this when I attended seminary. I was never good in the required logic class (core curriculum), and I certainly don't catch on quickly. But I made it. And the meme sounds true enough.

I got my "new" dryer installed yesterday. It's a used dryer with rust on top (I cleaned it up as much as I could) and the front panel is loose. I may have to drill a hole and bolt it on.

I was saddened yesterday to hear of the passing of a soldier I served with. When I knew him, he was a Staff Sergeant, E-6. I lost track of him over the years, but I remember him because I worked with him in the military and civil service. He was a great mechanic and had a mechanic business on the side. He enjoyed restoring Volkswagen "Bugs" and selling them. I'll never forget the time (at Fort Hood) that he told a First Sergeant and other high ranks that they "need to get their head out of their @$$es." Everyone called him "Chock." I assume it's because he was a Choctaw Indian.

Yesterday I cashed in and spent some Amazon cards. I bought The Armorer from The Mandalorian. I really want an action figure of NED-B. I think I'll buy him next.

Occasionally, memes are not just funny, but also true. And this one is true. I suppose a man could wear a wig and makeup, but he would undoubtedly get some funny looks. Personally, I keep my head shaved, as in shaved bald. I would love to grow it out, but psoriasis doesn't bother me as much as long as I keep it shaved off.

Rest in peace, James Earl Jones (January 17, 1931 – September 9, 2024). His voice played a big role in my childhood, as he was the voice of Darth Vader. When I see Vader, I hear Jones' deep voice as much as I do the breathing machine that kept Lord Vader alive. Jones passed away at the age of 93 on Monday, September 9, 2024.

I can't really blame anyone for not exercising this way, because it always seemed boring when I was doing it regularly. I always preferred to be outside if the weather allowed it.
