| Lovecraftian Media |
Thank you for visiting this page. The following descriptions include links that will take you to descriptions of H.P. Lovecraft-oriented media. By media, we mean videos, and by videos, we mean movies. I will include (below) a few links devoted to Lovecraftian web pages.
Some of the following movies I list may be (currently) watched online for free. I can't guarantee that they are still available for free. This is a non-comprehensive listing. It will be updated as necessary. I have decided to rate the movies that I have personally seen. Descriptions will largely be borrowed from (and credited to) The Internet Movie Database (IMDb), since that site reviews more movies than, say, Wikipedia. There may or may not be exceptions to that general rule. Rotten Tomatoes or other movie sites/reviews may occasionally be quoted.
Recommended websites that pertain to H.P. Lovecraft and similar material are as follows: The H.P. Lovecraft Historical Society; The H.P. Lovecraft Archive; The Yellow Sign Wiki; and The King in Yellow on Wikipedia. I may add to this list if I discover other relevant and valuable material. Note: Also see Lovecraft Fandom for related material.
Special Mention: Jeffrey Combs has appeared in many Lovecraft-inspired movies, and he has made many appearances in the Star Trek franchise. Check out his biography and filmography on Wikipedia.
Movies Inspired by The Works of H.P. Lovecraft
🦑 Army of Darkness - 1992
"When Ash Williams is accidentally transported to 1300 A.D., he must retrieve the Necronomicon and battle an army of the dead in order to return home." Source: IMDb.
Army of Darkness is a horror comedy. It focuses on the undead and Ash William's efforts to retrieve a book called the Necronomicon. It's not specifically related to any Lovecraft story. It only uses the "Necronomicon" book as a plot device. I've watched this movie several times, and I recommend it.
Runtime: 1 hour 21 minutes. R.

Lonestar's Rating: ★★★★★★★★ (8/10).
🦑 Beyond Re-Animator - 2003
"After 13 years in prison, the mad scientist from Re-Animator (1985) gets a new chance to experiment with the arrival of a young prison doctor, who secretly hopes to learn to reanimate dead people. Good intentions turn to horror." Source: IMDb.
The one and only Jeffrey Combs returns to the screen. This movie is a necessity for his fans. The Re-animator is back! I sat back and determined that I would watch the entire movie. It was worth watching at least once, but I have to admit that I really didn't like it that much. It is, however, everything that you would expect from a Re-animator movie. As I've become older, I've started to be less tolerant of gore and shots of female breasts - both of which appear in this movie. There's even a detached male member that makes an appearance toward the end of the movie. Verdict: Yuck.
Runtime: 1 hour 36 minutes. R.
Beyond Re-Animator on IMDb.
Lonestar's Rating: ★★★★★ (5/10).
🦑 Beyond the Dunwich Horror - 2008
"Kenny Crawford arrives in Dunwich after hearing that his brother Andrew has been admitted to a psychiatric ward, and is suspected in a string of disappearances in the town. With the help of local reporter Marsha Calloway and the eccentric Upton Armitage he probes the last few weeks of his brother's life. As they do so, they uncover evidence of a plot in the works revolving around Andrew, his girlfriend Nikki Hartwell and her twisted friend Otto Bellinger." Source: Anonymous at IMDb.
I admit, I tried to watch it. I really did. I made it through the first 45 minutes and had to quit. It's just not an interesting or very good movie. It has very little to do with H.P. Lovecraft.
Runtime: 1 hour 45 minutes. TV-MA.
Beyond the Dunwich Horror on IMDb.
Lonestar's Rating: ★★ (2/10).
🦑 Bride of Re-Animator - 1990
"Doctors Herbert West and Dan Cain discover the secret to creating human life and proceed to create a perfect woman from dead tissue." Source: IMDb.
I watched this movie for free on archive.org. It stars Jeffrey Combs, and he and Dr. Cain are up to West's usual antics - reanimating the dead. This time, they set about to create a "perfect woman." Like others, this movie is supposed to be a comedy and a horror film. Too bad it's not funny at any point.
Runtime: 1 hour 36 minutes. R.
Bride of Re-Animator on IMDb.
Lonestar's Rating: ★★★ (3/10).
🦑 Call Girl of Cthulhu
"When a virginal artist falls in love with a call girl, she turns out to be the chosen bride of the alien god Cthulhu. To save her, he must stop an ancient cult from summoning their god and destroying mankind." Source: IMDb.
If my personal rating scale allowed for it, I'd give this movie a zero. It's as much like a soft porn movie as it is a Lovecraftian movie.
Runtime: 1 hour 32 minutes. NR.
Call Girl of Cthulhu on IMDb.
Lonestar's Rating: ★ (1/10).
🦑 Cast a Deadly Spell - 1991
"In a fantastical 40's where magic is used by everyone, a hard-boiled detective investigates the theft of a mystical tome." Source: IMDb.
Cast a Deadly Spell has a sequel called Witch Hunt (1994). The former is basically about a 1940s private detective who navigates a world inhabited by magic users. His name? Phil Lovecraft. Truly. Phil Lovecraft is employed to find a book called the Necronomicon.
The movie is watchable and interesting in certain places. It also has uninteresting places. I recommend watching it at least once. I saw it for free online.
Runtime: 1 hour 36 minutes. R.

Lonestar's Rating: ★★★★★ (5/10).
🦑 Cthulhu - 2000
"Dan Upton is concerned about the influence of a young woman upon his friend Edward Derby. While a series of dismemberment killings in Arkham seems to be linked to a Cthulhu cult in nearby Innsmouth and Dunwich." Source: IMDb.
Several Lovecraft tales are loosely tied into this movie. Namely, The Thing on The Doorstep, The Shadow over Innsmouth, and The Dunwich Horror. This is a very low-budget attempt at a Lovecraftian horror movie. It's an admirable attempt, but it falls short. I had to look hard to find a version to watch for free. At least the director gave it a shot, and that's about the best thing I can say. This movie should not be confused with another movie with the same name that was released in 2007.
Runtime: 1 hour 15 minutes. NR.
Cthulhu on IMDb.
Lonestar's Rating: ★★ (2/10).
🦑 Cthulhu - 2007
"Seattle professor returns home, reunites with childhood friend, uncovers disturbing details about father's cult, events escalate dangerously toward apocalyptic situation." Source: IMDb.
This movie could have been much better. It focuses, largely, on the protagonist and his "confused" sexuality (he is gay). Unfortunately, the movie spends too much time on that confusion. I mean, who cares? A Lovecraftian movie should find something better to focus on, like, say, Lovecraftian horror. And Cthulhu. The protagonist is even raped by a woman (Tori Spelling). Again, it could've been much better.
Runtime: 1 hour 40 minutes. R.
Cthulhu - 2007 on IMDb.
Lonestar's Rating: ★★★★ (4/10).
🦑 Dagon - 2001
"A boating accident runs a young man and woman ashore in a decrepit Spanish fishing town which they discover is in the grips of an ancient sea god and its monstrous half human offspring." Source: IMDb.
This movie ties loosely into Lovecraft's Dagon and The Shadow Over Innsmouth. I think it's a great movie. It's definitely worth watching. I've seen it several times. I watched it online for free. This was Macarena Gómez' first film performance. I thought she was amazing, even if she was partially prepared to head out into the sea. I have to say that this film does a very good job at presenting a creepy atmosphere. Like others, though, I don't need shots of female breasts in my movies.
Runtime: 1 hour 38 minutes. R.
Dagon on IMDb.
Lonestar's Rating: ★★★★★★★ (7/10).
🦑 Die, Monster, Die! - 1965
"A meteorite's radiation creates giant plants in a scientist's greenhouse. When it affects his wife, the wheelchair-bound man attempts to destroy it, leading to catastrophe." Source: IMDb.
I enjoy early, classic horror. I don't care much for 60s or even 70s horror. I'll make an exception here. So, this film stars the famous Boris Karloff, who passed away before I was even born. It also features Nick Adams, Freda Jackson, and Suzan Farmer. All actors perform admirably. I read a review of it and spoiled it for myself, but found a copy to watch online for free, so I watched it. It gave me "House of Usher" vibes at the start, but it's actually an interpretation of Lovecraft's The Color Out of Space. I won't spoil it for you, but it's a very entertaining movie. It's an early attempt to bring Lovecraft to the screen. Solid 7.
Runtime: 1 hour 20 minutes. TV-PG.
Die, Monster, Die! - 1965 on IMDb.
Lonestar's Rating: ★★★★★★★ (7/10).
🦑 Ever Heard of H.P. Lovecraft? The Last Case of August T. Harrison - 2015
"August T. Harrison, private eye, comes out of retirement to solve a bizarre missing persons case, but finds himself caught in the middle of a dark conspiracy involving the writings of H.P. Lovecraft." Source: IMDb.
This has a "middle" rating on IMDb, and I have to agree. However, it is a superior film as compared to some of the "Lovecraft" oriented movies that you'll find out there. It's definitely worth a watch.
Runtime: 1 hour 6 minutes. TV-14.

Lonestar's Rating: ★★★★★ (5/10).
🦑 Evil Dead - 2013
"Five friends head to a remote cabin, where the discovery of a Book of the Dead leads them to unwittingly summon up demons living in the nearby woods." Source: IMDb.
I've watched this movie a couple of times. Five friends head out to a cabin, which is the vacation cabin of one friend's family. They are gathering together to help support one of the five as she attempts to "kick" a heroin habit. Things go awry, as they usually do, and they start getting picked off. This movie currently has a 6.5 rating on IMDb, and Sam Raimi is credited as one of the writers. It's also described as a sequel to the original Evil Dead, though the original is superior, in my opinion. This movie doesn't have much to do with Lovecraft, other than using an evil book as a plot device. I'm not a big fan of the level of gore that this movie offers.
Runtime: 1 hour 31 minutes. R.
Evil Dead - 2013 on IMDb.
Lonestar's Rating: ★★★★★ (5/10).
🦑 Evil Dead II - 1987
"Ash Williams, the lone survivor of an earlier onslaught of flesh-possessing spirits, holes up in a cabin with a group of strangers while the demons continue their attack." Source: IMDb.
This movie follows The Evil Dead and is a worthy entry into the Evil Dead franchise. As with the first movie, it stars Bruce Campbell as Ashley Williams. It's definitely worth a watch, though it only uses Lovecraft's plot device of an evil book that summons the undead.
Runtime: 1 hour 24 minutes. R.
Evil Dead II on IMDb.
Lonestar's Rating: ★★★★★★ (6/10).
🦑 Evil Dead Rise - 2023
"A twisted tale of two estranged sisters whose reunion is cut short by the rise of flesh-possessing demons, thrusting them into a primal battle for survival as they face the most nightmarish version of family imaginable." Source: IMDb.
I didn't care too much for this movie. It's not particularly "Lovecraftian" in nature. An additional standalone movie scheduled to follow this one is Evil Dead Burn, which will be released in 2026. No other information is available at this time.
Runtime: 1 hour 36 minutes. R.
Evil Dead Rise - 2023 on IMDb.
Lonestar's Rating: ★★★★★ (5/10).
🦑 Exegesis Lovecraft - 2021
"A cathartic journey that Qais, a Pakistani-Canadian filmmaker embarks on as he traces the life of H.P. Lovecraft, from woodland cemeteries in Rhode Island, to the docks of New York and on to the cobbled stoned streets of Quebec City." Source: IMDb.
Exegesis Lovecraft is a rare documentary about Lovecraft. It was written, directed, and narrated by Qais Pasha. S.T. Joshi appears in this film. I recommend watching it, at least once, if you can find it online for free. I don't think I'd buy a copy. Yes, I was able to watch it online.
Runtime: 2 hours 6 minutes. TV-MA.
Exegesis Lovecraft - 2021 on IMDb.
Lonestar's Rating: ★★★★★★ (6/10).
🦑 From Beyond - 1986
"A group of scientists have developed the Resonator, a machine which allows whoever is within range to see beyond normal perceptible reality. But when the experiment succeeds, they are immediately attacked by terrible life forms." Source: IMDb.
This recommended film is based, loosely, on H.P. Lovecraft's story, From Beyond, written in 1920. It's probably one of the most well-known and highly rated of Lovecraft-oriented films.
Runtime: 1 hour 25 minutes. R.
From Beyond - 1986 - on IMDb.
Lonestar's Rating: ★★★★★★ (6/10).
🦑 Gods of The Deep - 2023
"When a daring mission leads a deep sea submarine team into a mysterious opening on the ocean floor, they uncover a lost underwater world and awaken its ancient race of otherworldly beings." Source: IMDb.
This movie tries, but it's just not very good. It features Cthulhu for sure, but it just doesn't have enough budget to do anything great. I've only seen it once, and it was quite enough.
Runtime: 1 hour 18 minutes. R.
Gods of The Deep on IMDb.
Lonestar's Rating: ★★★ (3/10).
🦑 Herbert West: Re-Animator - 2017
"After the loss of his daughter Eleanor, a famous scientist, Dr. Herbert West, experimenting with a special serum invented by him, desperately tries to bring her back to life." Source: IMDb.
The movie is dark, not just in atmosphere, but in color. I thought it was going to be a black and white movie. I didn't really like it. I won't give any spoilers.
Runtime: 1 hour 23 minutes. R.
Herbert West: Re-Animator - 2017 on IMDb.
Lonestar's Rating: ★★ (2/10).
🦑 H.P. Lovecraft's The Deep Ones - 2020
"A married couple rents a beach side Airbnb only to be surrounded by peculiar neighbors and occurrences. They soon discover that they are in the grip of a mysterious cult and the ancient sea god that they worship." Source: IMDb.
This disaster couldn't make it a few minutes without showing nudity and a sex scene. I tried to watch, but even though they try to make out like it's a very benign film, it's just too much sex and gore. So, technically, I didn't watch the entire movie, but I did watch enough to know that I didn't want to see it. It didn't seem to be especially bad as far as the acting and filming were concerned, but it just wasn't for me. I turned it off and watched The Grudge instead.
Runtime: 1 hour 23 minutes. Not rated. Not suitable for children.
H.P. Lovecraft's The Deep Ones - 2020 on IMDb.
Lonestar's Rating: ★★ (2/10).
🦑 H.P. Lovecraft's The Dunwich Horror and Other Stories - 2007
Three classic H.P. Lovecraft stories are brought to life by animated clay puppets and miniatures. They are 'The picture in the house', The Dunwich horror' and 'The festival'. Source: IMDb.
It's not great, but it is an HPL-inspired trio. Nothing fantastic to be seen here. Animated.
Runtime: 46 minutes. No rating found.
H.P. Lovecraft's The Dunwich Horror and Other Stories - 2007 on IMDb.
Lonestar's Rating: ★★★★ (4/10).
🦑 H.P. Lovecraft's The Monster Portal - 2022
"A cult is about to waken H.P. Lovecraft's most feared creature." Source: IMDb.
It draws on Lovecraft's name, but it's just not a very good movie. I watched it once, and I won't watch it again.
Runtime: 1 hour 20 minutes. TV-14.
H.P. Lovecraft's The Monster Portal on IMDb.
Lonestar's Rating: ★★ (2/10).
🦑 H.P. Lovecraft's The Thing on The Doorstep - 2014
"A psychological horror film based on the short story by H.P. Lovecraft. Daniel Upton's relationship with his friend Edward Derby is abruptly changed after Edward becomes romantically involved with Asenath Waite, a hypnotist with an odd reputation. As Edward's behavior becomes more erratic and events unexplainable, Daniel investigates. Is it madness...or something far more terrifying?" Source: Anonymous review at IMDb.
A loose and modern interpretation drawing on H.P. Lovecraft's 1933 story, The Thing on The Doorstep. I think I have a copy of this movie somewhere, but I don't know where it is. It's not a very good movie.
Runtime: 1 hour 29 minutes. R.
H.P. Lovecraft's The Thing on The Doorstep - 2014 on IMDb.
Lonestar's Rating: ★★ (2/10).
🦑 H.P. Lovecraft's The Whisperer in Darkness - 2011
"Based on the H. P. Lovecraft story of the same name, a folklorist investigates reports of unusual creatures in Vermont only to uncover more than he bargained for." Source: IMDb.
A very good entry in the HPL franchise. It was distributed by the H.P. Lovecraft Historical Society. The movie is going to be as close to the original tale as you'll find.
Runtime: 1 hour 43 minutes. NR.
H.P. Lovecraft's The Whisperer in Darkness - 2011 on IMDb.
Lonestar's Rating: ★★★★★★★★ (8/10).
🦑 H.P. Lovecraft's Two Left Arms - 2013
"Carter, an art conservator, arrives in Italy to restore a fresco in an old church. He discovers that the strange locals are hiding something and a mystery relating to a nearby lake that legend says was created by a meteor." Source: IMDb.
H.P. Lovecraft's Two Left Arms is a rather boring addition to Lovecraftian media. It's not very entertaining, and I didn't care for the music. It sounded as though some ancient musician was trying to make sure that Azathoth stayed asleep. The protagonist is named Randolph Carter from Providence, and the actor portraying him seems as if he doesn't speak English. If you don't watch it, you won't miss a single thing. If you have to watch it (like I did) just because it styles itself as a "Lovecraft movie," then by all means watch it. I won't suffer through it again.
Runtime: 1 hour 20 minutes. TV-MA.

Facing a series of bizarre and violent events, Alice is plagued by nightmarish dreams of these evil entities. Trapped between the 4th dimension and reality, the diabolical truth is revealed as Alice fights for her sanity and her very soul. Based on the H.P. Lovecraft's short story The Dreams in the Witch House, WITCH HOUSE blurs the boundaries between reality, dreams...and the beyond." Source: IMDb.
I remember watching this movie, and while I don't remember too many details, I do remember that I didn't like it. It's an interpretation of Lovecraft's The Dreams in the Witch House.
Runtime: 1 hour 22 minutes. TV-MA
H.P. Lovecraft's Witch House - 2021 on IMDb.

"Sea captain Russel Marsh was possessed by an ancient entity for 93 years, committing horrific acts for a cult. Now free, he seeks to travel back in time to undo his dark deeds, while the cult vows to eliminate him." Source: IMDb.
They threw quite a few characters from the Lovecraft mythos at us, but it's unimpressive. I wasted my time and watched the entire movie. I won't do it again. Oh, Nyarlathotep makes an appearance. And Nyarlathotep is laughable.
Runtime: 1 hour 24 minutes. TV-MA.

"After returning from his previous adventure, young Howard Lovecraft must lead an expedition including his father, Winfield, Uncle Randolph, and Miskatonic University's Dr. Henry Armitage to Antarctica, to prevent the awakening of Cthulhu!" Source: IMDb.
An animated movie, much like the previous entry. Actually, I think it's a sequel. Not too bad, not scary or anything though.
Runtime: 1 hour 15 minutes. PG.
Howard Lovecraft and The Kingdom of Madness on IMDb.
Lonestar's Rating: ★★★★ (4/10).
🦑 In The Mouth of Madness - 1994
"An insurance investigator begins discovering that the impact a horror writer's books have on his fans is more than inspirational." Source: IMDb.
It shares a similar name with one of H.P. Lovecraft's stories, and it is Lovecraftian in nature. Sam Neill and Julie Carmen star, and they work well together. It has a good, creepy atmosphere to it. The ending is okay, but just that. This is one of the best HPL-inspired movies that I've ever seen.
Runtime: 1 hour 35 minutes. R.
In The Mouth of Madness - 1994 on IMDb.
Lonestar's Rating: ★★★★★★★ (7/10).
🦑 Lovecraft: Fear of The Unknown

🦑 Necronomicon - 1993
"Lovecraft visualizes 3 stories in Necronomicon: The Drowned, The Cold and Whispers, about bringing a dead wife and child back to life, extending life and aliens." Source: IMDb.
Necronomicon is also known as Necronomicon: Book of Dead. It's three individual stories inspired by the book known as the Necronomicon. It stars Jeffrey Combs as H. P. Lovecraft. I like this movie, but I haven't seen it in many years. I do remember the third entry had too much gore for my taste. The entries are entitled The Drowned, The Cold, and Whispers. As for the latter, I think I'll skip it if I ever watch this movie again.
Runtime: 1 hour 36 minutes. R.

Lonestar's Rating: ★★★★★ (5/10).
🦑 Older Gods - 2023
"A man descends into madness as he tries to investigate an apocalyptic cult that caused the death of his friend." Source: IMDb.
I vaguely remember wasting my time watching this movie. I kept waiting for something to happen. It never did.
Runtime: 1 hour 22 minutes. R.
Older Gods - 2023 on IMDb.
Lonestar's Rating: ★★★ (3/10).
🦑 Re-Animator - 1985
"After an odd new medical student arrives on campus, a dedicated local and his girlfriend become involved in bizarre experiments centering around the re-animation of dead tissue." Source: IMDb.
Re-Animator is a good movie, no doubt about it. It takes its name from Lovecraft's Herbert West - Reanimator. I've seen it many times, but these days I don't care much for a massive amount of gore or the undead. It stars Jeffrey Combs and Barbara Crampton.
Runtime: 1 hour 24 minutes. R.
Re-Animator - 1985 on IMDb.
Lonestar's Rating: ★★★★★★ (6/10).
🦑 Suitable Flesh - 2023
"A psychiatrist becomes obsessed with one of her young patients, who she later discovers is linked to an ancient curse." Source: IMDb.

This movie is a worthy retelling of HPL's The Call of Cthulhu. It's one of the best Lovecraft movies there is. It was distributed by the H. P. Lovecraft Historical Society. It is a silent movie, and it is black & white.
Runtime: 47 minutes. NR.
The Call of Cthulhu - 2005 on IMDb.
Lonestar's Rating: ★★★★★★★★ (8/10).
🦑 The Color Out of Space - 2019
"A secluded farm is struck by a strange meteorite which has apocalyptic consequences for the family living there and possibly the world." Source: IMDb.
Starring Nicolas Cage, this movie is an interpretation of Lovecraft's The Color Out of Space. I enjoyed this movie, even though one character is a Wiccan. I noticed that she even has a copy of the Simon Necronomicon.
Runtime: 1 hour 51 minutes. NR.
The Color Out of Space - 2019 on IMDb.
Lonestar's Rating: ★★★★★★★ (7/10).
🦑 The Curse - 1987
"When a meteorite lands near his family farm during a storm in Tennessee, the son of a struggling farmer believes it's connected to strange plague-like events afflicting the crops, the farm animals and even the family themselves." Source: IMDb.
I watched this several years ago, it was spooky in places. It stars Claude Akins and Will Wheaton. The latter has disowned the film, revealing that he was mistreated during filming. It's another retelling of Lovecraft's The Color Out of Space.
Runtime: 1 hour 32 minutes. R.
The Curse - 1987 on IMDb.
Lonestar's Rating: ★★★★★★ (6/10).
🦑 The Dunwich Horror - 1970
"Wilbur Whateley travels to the Arkham Miskatonic University to borrow the legendary Necronomicon. But, little does anyone know, Whateley isn't quite human..." Source: IMDb.
A retelling of HPL's The Dunwich Horror. It stars Sandra Dee, Dean Stockwell, and Ed Begley. Not a bad movie.
Runtime: 1 hour 30 minutes. R.

🦑 The Dunwich Horror - 2009
"A single mother delivers a monstrous baby boy, somehow connected to a dark prophecy involving the Black Brotherhood, a book called the Necronomicon, and a demonic portal." Source: IMDb.
Some sources state that this movie was released in 2009, while others say 2008. It's another take on The Dunwich Horror. Dean Stockwell returns, this time as Miskatonic's Dr. Henry Armitage. Sarah Lieving seems to have top billing. Jeffrey Combs appears here as Wilbur Whateley. This movie was okay, once, but I don't think I'd care to sit through it again.
Runtime: 1 hour 31 minutes. R.
The Dunwich Horror - 2009 on IMDb.
Lonestar's Rating: ★★★★★ (5/10).
🦑 The Dunwich Horror - 2010

🦑 The Evil Dead - 1981
"Five friends travel to a cabin in the woods, where they unknowingly release flesh-possessing demons." Source: IMDb.
This is the first, original, Evil Dead. I greatly enjoyed it at the time, but now it's not really my type of movie. It uses a "book of the dead" as a plot device.
Runtime: 1 hour 25 minutes. NC-17.
The Evil Dead - 1981 on IMDb.
Lonestar's Rating: ★★★★★ (5/10).
🦑 The King in Yellow - 2022
"In four intersecting stories, the cursed play known as The King In Yellow causes supernatural terror to befall any who reads it." Source: IMDb.
This movie is a loosely connected, anthology-like tale roughly based on the works of Robert Chambers, with whom H.P. Lovecraft was familiar. The King in Yellow, or Hastur the Unspeakable, is a figure in the Cthulhu mythos. Links to sites that pertain to this are listed in the beginning paragraphs of this page. The movie is worth watching, at least once, and it would be helpful if one were familiar with The King in Yellow by Robert Chambers. The movie loosely references (stories) The Repairer of Reputations, The King in Yellow, The Demoiselle d'Ys, and no doubt other stories that I didn't notice when I was watching it.
Runtime: 1 hour 37 minutes. TV-MA.
The King in Yellow - 2022 on IMDb.

"The town of Leffert's Corners has been plagued by unearthly beings for decades, and now there is only a few people left... what everyone is not aware of are the humanoid creatures lurking underneath the holy grounds." Source: IMDb.
I remember renting this movie years ago on VHS. It's named for, but not identical with, Lovecraft's Lurking Fear. I do believe that Full Moon Productions released this movie. Ashley Laurence of Hellraiser is the most notable actor who appears here.
Runtime: 1 hour 16 minutes. R.
The Lurking Fear - 1994 on IMDb.

🦑 The Resurrected - 1991
"Charles Dexter Ward's wife enlists the help of a private detective to find out what her husband is up to in a remote cabin owned by his family for centuries." Source: IMDb.
The movie is based The Case of Charles Dexter Ward by H.P. Lovecraft. It was also released under the names The Ancestor and Shatterbrain. It has a good and creepy atmosphere. I liked it and recently watched it again. It's a solid movie.

🦑 The Unnamable - 1988
"College students check out a haunted house where in the 1800s an ugly monster called "the Unnamable" was trapped in a vault." Source: IMDb.
Based on The Unnamable by Lovecraft, this movie is good for what it is: mindless entertainment. Solid five!

🦑 The Unnamable II: The Statement of Randolph Carter
"A creature of demonic nature, too hideous to have a name, once again terrorizes the college kids that summoned it." Source: IMDb.
A sequel to The Unnamable (above), this movies goes a little deeper into the character of Alyda Winthrop, who is joined to a demon. I first watched this movie on VHS.

🦑 The Void - 2016
"Shortly after delivering a patient to an understaffed hospital, a police officer experiences strange and violent occurrences seemingly linked to a group of mysterious hooded figures." Source: IMDb.
It has too much gore for me. It's described as a Lovecraftian movie, and that's about all that needs to be said. Some like, others don't. I don't. One reviewer stated that the movie should have been named, "A-Void."
Runtime: 1 hour 30 minutes. NR.

🦑 Zeckenkommando vs. Cthulhu - 2015
"Lower Saxony's most hardcore punk band faces off against the forces of evil summoned by their small town's elites in a found footage extravaganza." Source: IMDb.
It has almost a 6.0 rating on IMDb. It's a found footage film, and you can certainly tell it. It's currently advertised as a comedy/Foreign/International at Tubi. The version I watched had English subtitles. I suppose that the spoken language is German.
Runtime: 1 hour 28 minutes. TV-MA.
