(Possible Spoilers Ahead)
A nun, Sister Ann, has a troubled past. She is trained as an (assistant) exorcist. From this point, Prey becomes your basic horror movie and it's fairly predictable, with just a few twists. It's formulaic, as this kind of movie is quite common and has been done before.
Naturally, the movie centers around exorcism. Ann attempts to assist Father Dante (Christian Navarro) in an unauthorized exorcism. They fail, spectacularly, and Ann returns to her convent in disgrace.
Sister Ann is called forth once again to assist in yet another unauthorized exorcism, and the second time around she is super unsuccessful. Without going into too much more detail, she is ultimately successful and is rewarded with the opportunity to study at the Vatican. However, what seems to be a happy conclusion ends in an unexpected encounter.
Prey has a couple of jump scares, but does not rely on them. It stars Jacqueline Byers as Ann. Colin Salmon (Resident Evil, Alien vs. Predator) also appears in this movie.
