Moff Gideon Action Figure

Moff Gideon
Moff Gideon - Author's Collection

I was familiar with Grand Moff Tarkin when I was a little boy. The character was played by Peter Cushing. I don't remember if there was a figurine of the character. If there was, neither I nor my brother owned it.

I didn't know until later that Moff was a title. I recently read somewhere that Carrie Fisher, who interacted with Tarkin in her role as Princess Leia, stated that she had a hard time showing disdain for the Grand Moff. Apparently, Cushing was so likable when he was out of character that it was hard to pretend to dislike Tarkin.

Moff Gideon is a new character for me. I believe he has appeared only in the series The Mandalorian. The character is portrayed by Giancarlo Esposito. I'm not sure if he's been in any novels.

The picture above has a backstory. I purchased it from Amazon for around $15 total and got it in the mail about four days later. It's unique because it's actually the second Moff Gideon figure that I've owned. I bought the first one about a week ago. I brought it home and sat it on my curio cabinet. The next day I couldn't find it, and I haven't seen it since. I don't know if it got tossed into the trash can or what. It's just gone. I sat the second one on the shelf that holds most of my Star Wars collection. It's not going to move from that spot. From now on, anything I buy will immediately be placed on the shelf.

Text from the back cover of the package: "Clever and formidable, imperial Moff Gideon is fiercely determined to capture the child, known as Grogu."

Note: Gideon is pictured in Mandalorian or Mandalorian-style armor.

Note 2: I discovered the lost action figure in a box inside my closet. I have no idea why I placed it into a box.
