| Homemade Spaceship - Author's Picture |
I completed the spaceship, what I called "the RX-7," when I was a boy. I used scrap lumber; a miter saw and a jigsaw. I used a few nails (painted yellow) for the "lights." There are three gun turrets that came from a model battleship that I have stored in the closet. Back (in the day) when I built the first ship all I had was nails and a handsaw. Now I don't even own a handsaw. It was never supposed to look professional, if anyone wonders.
The week has been long. My wife remains ill, and we hope she doesn't end up back in the hospital. Two doctors are working with her. I'm worried and on edge. Today marked my tenth day without a cigarette. That might be part of the reason why I'm edgy.
