"I thought we had it figured out." Exasperated, I continued, "And I thought we needed each other to be complete, my love."
"I don't need anyone," she replied coldly. "I certainly don't need you in my life. I don't know what you think we've figured out, but you have deceived yourself."
"O...oh," I stammered. "I have misjudged our relationship. I'll leave. I'll leave you alone."
"Good. I'm leaving now. Good luck in whatever happens in your life."
"I wish the same for you. I wish great happiness upon you," I said. She left, and I returned to my office.
