| The Clown |
When I got home, I went to the bathroom to clean my face. My mom, who had immediately noticed my eye, followed me into my room and listened as I explained the events of my day. She left, and I opened my laptop to check social media. I could see the clown, staring in my direction with a grim look on its face. It somehow seemed...meaner...than it had been in the past.
Two days later, the word in school was that my nemesis, Mike, had suffered what they were calling a nervous breakdown. They said it was bad, really bad. In fact, he was admitted to a hospital, ranting and raving about ghosts - and a clown.
After school, I returned home and began my usual routine. I opened my computer. Then I noticed something unusual. The doll had always frightened me because of that ominous look on its face. This time, however, it was different.
The doll was turned in my direction, and it had a big smile on its face. I confess that I smiled too. I haven't thought of a name for him yet, but I plan on keeping him around.
