| Captain's Log 1/14/2025 |
It's the 14th of January. It snowed on January 9-10 and it's melting, but still present in spots. Some shaded stretches of the road are also sketchy (slick with ice). We've had black ice alerts and freezing fog alerts. I'd never heard of the latter. It's been dropping below freezing every night, so we've had to set our faucets to drip. The noise is aggravating, but aggravation is better than paying a plumber to fix busted pipes
I am prepared and supplied with water in case anything happens to our pipes or rural water service. I've stocked six gallons of drinking water and six gallons of tap water. Hopefully, that's enough to last if something does go wrong.
Tomorrow night, hopefully, we're going out to dinner. It'll be our 34th anniversary celebration combined with my wife's upcoming birthday dinner. She and I both have health problems, which worry me. All I can do is hope for God's will in life, no matter what that will might be.
