Breakfast at Denny's
Breakfast at Denny's

I got up at 6 this morning; my back was bothering me too badly to lie in bed. I guess I'll end up putting a kit in the toilet - I can hear the water to it kicking off and on sometimes. First I'll have to find some WD-40 and spray it on the cutoff valve. It's tight; there's no telling when it was last turned off. In fact, I think I'll go look for it now. I think it's outside. I just found it inside the house.

Other than packing for tomorrow, I don't think I'll have to do much today. At least I hope not. I do have to go with my wife tonight to see her parents. Her surgery is just a couple of days away.

I read a news story a couple of days ago about two 14-year-old classmates who got into a fight. One was female, and the other was male. The fight ended when the guy slammed the girl into a desk (I think). Both were arrested, but it was determined that the girl started the fight. She's facing more serious charges than the guy is.

I had a sudden "flashback" to the days of my childhood. My dad told us that if we started a fight, he would "whip our a$$." However, if someone started a fight with us and we didn't fight back, he would also "whip our a$$." I don't remember the context, but I remember the words. Dad is long gone, but I'll never forget what he said. This is just a random memory that came to me when I read the news story.
