SS Baychimo

The SS Baychimo was a steamship launched in 1914. She was used for trade, notably exchanging supplies for pelts in Inuit communities. In 1931 the ship was entrapped in pack ice and ultimately abandoned. It was seen several times throughout the years but could never be recovered. It became a ghost ship in the truest sense of the word, being spotted for the last time in 1969. It is presumed sunk - but you never can tell, especially with this vessel. The picture shows the ship trapped in the ice.
