Hospital, April 12

I got up earlier than usual and went to get my morning coffee from the nutrition room. While I was there I helped a Spanish speaker to fix a cup of coffee. I wish I spoke Spanish.

I went to the 7-11 to get some water and sodas. I also got a sausage biscuit that I'll microwave later. Although it's not difficult anymore, I still dislike driving in heavy traffic. I'm ready to get home to Bugtussle. From now on, I'll call my stomping grounds, "Bugtussle." The name has a history in other states; here it describes a small community and a large lake. My parents took me fishing there when I was a child. Actually, they forced me to go. I don't like to fish and never have liked it.

My wife is in pain. The doctor said it might be from drain tubes. Another doctor on his staff said she needed an ultrasound. The hospitalist said that it was not the drain tubes. I'm afraid she might be getting pneumonia. We'll see, I suppose.

The head surgeon said we'll be here at least through the weekend. The days are long and quite boring. Still, I don't want her to be released too soon. If she is, we'll probably have to come right back to the hospital. I'm also concerned that we won't be able to take care of her when she goes home.
