Tower C
Tower C - Author's Picture

It's been raining and thundering for most of the day. We are under a tornado watch. Earlier, we were under a severe thunderstorm warning. I like it when it rains, but I do not care for thunderstorms. Where I live, we frequently do not have electricity when there's a storm. So far, so good: At least at this moment.

Copperheads. I've seen two so far this year (no pics yet), and yesterday I saw some other kind of snake. I don't think it was venomous. I don't like copperheads. At least a rattlesnake will (often) rattle. And a cottonmouth, while it may not come at you to attack, often moves. It may roll into a defensive position and gape, or it may come toward you because it's curious. The point is, they've always pretty much let me know they are there. Copperheads, on the other hand, do nothing. They lay there, camouflaged. I have a fear of accidentally picking up a copperhead.

My wife is still on home administered IV antibiotics along with various other prescribed medications. She still has a drain tube. She still has a temporary colostomy bag. Her appetite is improving, so that's a good thing. I hope the girl continues to improve.

The picture above shows the check-in desk for the Sarah Cannon Cancer Hospital at Medical City Plano, Tower C. This portion of the hospital has four floors. The station in the picture was taken early in the morning, long before the employees came to work. The hospital features towers A-D.

My back, with its busted disc, is killing me. I really got it to hurting from doing all the lawn cleaning. I used an electric pole saw today, and I managed to hurt myself. It's supposed to rain again tomorrow. Edit: It's raining right now.

Perhaps I'll have some respite. But if the weather is good, I'll be right back at it. I do have a back brace that I can wear if need be. My dad used to say, "It's hell to get old." I don't agree that it's "hell," but it is aggravating. When you have more years behind you than you do in front of you, it's troublesome.
