At Dobbs Institute, in the school's library, a meeting took place. The death (again) of Bridges and the absence of Gill had been confirmed by Investigation and Security officer Dr. Presley Harper. She, along with Dr. Priyanka Bhat (the curator), had been ordered by Director Robert Williamson to investigate the cemetery. Their assignment was to assess the burial ground's damage and to discover whether its formerly undead occupants were still in their graves. Two of the four were still in place. One had been slain by another, who was now missing.
It was obvious from the condition of her remains that Emily Pearson had been attacked and slain by the vampire. Where the attack took place, the fairground, was also discovered. The same kind of black material that was found near Emily's body was also discovered near the entrance of one of the fair's buildings.
"We've got problems," said Director Williamson. "And we need solutions."
