"It would be unusual," Abdul observed, "for a white girl to be out here."
"That thing told me about a ghoul who can or could open doorways to other places. She could have been taken at any time and from any place. Maybe even from any point in time. She's going with me. What shall I call her?"
"Perhaps your willingness to care for her and your kindness will influence her as she grows. Therefore, you should call her affection, or kindness: Atif."
"And so, it shall be. Atif. Tiffany."
"We need to go now; it's not safe here," said the Bedouin. "You've got a plane to catch, and I have an obligation to make sure you get there. Let us be gone before we run into any more trouble. If more ghouls come, we don't stand a chance."
