Izzy, 2025, Part 21
"I can wait to tell you about what I've uncovered in my research," Ethan continued. "Unless you want to hear it now."
"Wow. That's definitely not a good experience to have at such a young age, or any age. I'm sorry it happened to you," Chris interjected. He nodded at Izzy, indicating that he understood her apprehension. He then focused his attention on Ethan.
"Like I said," Izzy responded to Ethan. "I think I'd like to hear it now. Will you pour me another beer?"
"Absolutely." Ethan prepared three more ales and handed one to Izzy. "Let's go to the living room and sit on the love seat. My notebook is under one of the end tables." The trio entered the living area and seated themselves. Chris sat across from them on a larger couch. Ethan tossed a pillow onto the floor and then found the remote control to the TV, which was showing news, and turned it off. He reached beneath the table, rummaged around, and retrieved a three-ring binder. He often kept notes and lists in this notebook.
The large man flipped one page in the journal and scanned a bulleted list. "This entire area where our town sits dates back to a culture that existed here at least in the 14th century. Well, cultures. There were several tribes that lived here, along the Pecan Bayou, and along the White River."
