| The Case of Eleanor Sinclair |
"You've got the right place."
"I need to speak to the family," said Bill. "It's urgent."
"Okay," said the woman. "I just need to finish my walk. I wasn't able to do it today. The doctor says I need to walk, so I go to the end of the driveway and back. I'll be back soon."
Bill continued along the driveway and parked in front of the house. He got out of his car, went to the front door, and rang the doorbell. In a matter of seconds, the door opened, and Bill relayed to the family the terrible news.
When emotions had calmed down a bit, Bill asked about the family member who was taking a walk to the end of the driveway. The family looked shocked. One family member, a teenage girl, spoke, "Mamaw Ellen walks to the end of the driveway and back every day. Look," she pointed at the wall. "That's her picture."
Bill looked at the picture on the wall. It was the mirror image of the woman who had lost her life in the accident: The same person he evidently but impossibly encountered walking down the driveway.
Bill stated that he searched the driveway and then did a complete walk-around of the property. He found nothing and left empty-handed. Of all the things that happened during his tour of duty, nothing was stranger than his contact with the family of Eleanor Sinclair.
The End.
