3820: Chapter Four: It Begins Again, Part 11 - Tiffany Williamson: Epiphany

Tiffany Williamson sat at the desk in her room and opened the manila folder, which held the writings that were somehow connected to her mother. The scrolls were more like pages than actual scrolls. They weren't rolled up. They were somewhat stiff, and the words seemed to be painted on them.

Once, at an art show, Tiffany had purchased a picture that featured a pseudo-ancient Egyptian theme from The Book of the Dead. The artwork was painted on papyrus. The material that she now had before her looked the same.

On a yellow piece of notepaper, the girl saw the verse that her father and Priyanka Bhat had translated. She was almost afraid to read the text, and she would never say it aloud, but she finally read the words.

"I am ancient beyond ancient,
I am the genie, torn,
So now you will see me,
In the shape in which I was born."

Disturbed, and suddenly affected by...she knew not what, Tiffany found herself unwillingly repeating the words. Dizzy, she bowed her head. And when she raised it again, she was amazed.

She still had full control of herself, but the mirror behind her desk showed something quite different. Her normal appearance was altered. She wasn't monstrous, but she was different. She was a grown, tall, slim woman with raven black hair. Her eyes were as black as obsidian.

Tiffany had no desire for destruction. She had no desire for any activity that ghouls were supposed to partake in. She was just herself. Still herself. She had no desires whatsoever. Then she remembered her father. He would want to know what happened. She went downstairs, where Williamson was still sitting, making notes.

"Father," said the young ghoul. Her voice was throatier than usual, even sultry, but still low and pleasant. "When I read the words, something unexpected happened. I am complete. I believe I can translate the rest of the text for you; I'm not dangerous in this current form."
