The Titanic was called the RMS Titanic because it carried mail (Royal Mail Ship). It was primarily a passenger liner. The vessel sank, famously, (or infamously) on its maiden voyage to the states. The ship went down in 1915 after having struck an iceberg. At least 1,500 people lost their lives in the disaster. I have no information about the artwork posted above. I suspect (don't know) that it is the work of artist Ken Marschall.
