Dengar Retro Collection

Dengar Figure Bounty Hunter
Dengar - Author's Collection

Dengar is a name that I hadn't thought about in years. I didn't notice him in The Empire Strikes Back, and I don't think he was in any other movies. He appears in stories, but I don't know if they're canon or not. I do remember what I thought about the action figure, and it's the same thing as I think about Dengar. The figure (and character) was both ominous and creepy - unsettling and maybe even a little bit spooky. I didn't really like the action figure, but I had to have one since I had to have all things Star Wars. Well, if it was cheap enough to buy with my five dollar allowance. I don't know why it never occurred to me to save up my money - Except for the fact that I was a child.

According to various sources, Dengar was a human Corellian male. He was from the same planet, or at least the same system, as Han Solo. He thought of himself as something of a "lady's man," and enjoyed flirting with women. He was a bounty hunter, and he preferred using violent tactics. It's said that his space vessel did not contain the space to transport a living bounty (no confinement cell), as his quarries were always eliminated. When it came to "dead or alive," he chose the former. Dengar's ship was a modified Corellian transport ship called The Punishing One.
