I was not aware that this film existed. When I discovered it, I had to track down a copy and have a look. It's an excellent film.
Memory: The Origin of Alien is a 2019 documentary directed and written by Alexandre O. Philippe (William Shatner: You Can Call Me Bill, Doc of the Dead, and numerous others). The film examines the origin of the Alien film, the screenplay for which was written by Dan O'Bannon. Much of the material is devoted to tracing the inspiration for the screenplay back to H.P. Lovecraft and the Furies of Greek mythology. The contributions of Swiss artist H.R. Giger are also discussed, and the documentary also covers (naturally, probably) the infamous "chest burster" scene.
Alien (1979) was directed by Ridley Scott. The cast for 2019's Memory includes Tom Skerritt, Veronica Cartwright, Nicholas Cull, Ben Mankiewicz, Roger Corman, Henry Jenkins, Axelle Carolyn, Roger Christian, Diane O'Bannon, et al.
