I used to be a pastor, for about ten years. No one ever stopped by the parsonage to trick-or-treat. I figured they thought I would view the activity as negative. However, I don't "celebrate" anything on that day. I would have been delighted to hand out free candy. Actually, now that I think about it, one family did trick-or-treat at our house one year. I remember it well because my cat Top was still young, and I got him to "talk" to the children. They loved that he could "talk."
Today I got (ambiguous) results from my doctor's visit. I have to double my high blood pressure medicine. I also have back problems; the diagnosis was degenerative disc and facet joint disease. So, some of my back trouble is arthritis. I have to have an MRI this Friday to see exactly what the problem is.
I have claustrophobia and panic attacks when in confined spaces. The MRI machine is a confined space. The doctor prescribed two nerve pills so that I can withstand the MRI. I'm supposed to take one pill 30 minutes before the procedure. And I can take the second immediately before it begins. I know that I need to have it done, but I'm already nervous.
I just hope that I don't end up crippled, eventually. The doctor thinks that I may be able to take pain management in the form of injections. Surgery would be a "last resort." After speaking with my family this evening, we've decided that there will be no surgery unless it's absolutely necessary.
I ordered more merchandise for my Star Wars collection today. On Saturday, I added two pieces that I found at Walmart. When I sign off, as I'm now doing, I'm going to order some things from Temu.
