"On it," said Dr. Addison.
Dr. Robert Williamson then took the phone. "We'll have staff enter in just a moment. I want that thing put into a coffin on the third level of the crypt."
And so it was. At that moment I became the first female hunter in my family.
Years later I would read the annals of the Institute, and I stumbled upon a tale related to my adventure. My name was omitted, as per Institute policy. The entry read:
The town of (redacted) recently built a new three-story parking garage. It is named after an early setter called Lady Aspen Anne-Marie Caddell. The story of Ms. Caddell is known to very few individuals. She was afflicted by vampirism at an unknown date. She is now entombed on the third floor of the crypt in a sealed vault inside a stone sarcophagus. She rests eternally, and on those occasions when she is viewed, she is still somewhat beautiful. Her hands remain clutched around the stake that pierced her heart. She is designated as “Honoree 12” and is currently considered to be "safe." Her resting place is never to be disturbed, except with the permission and presence of the Director.
