I suddenly remembered the "good old days" of Yahoo! GeoCities. They were "neighborhoods" devoted to specific themes. They allowed people who knew a little bit about writing HTML to have their own web page. They even launched their own "page builder" tool.
At first, it was just GeoCities. Then Yahoo! bought them out. It didn't take long before the new owner cancelled the program.
They did the same thing with the e-groups platform. They bought them out and changed the name to Yahoo! Groups. Then they killed the program. Yahoo! seems to specialize in destroying whatever they touch. Maybe they provide some good services. I don't know, as I'll never use them for anything ever again. That's about as nice as I can be.
We left the house at 9:45 this morning for a doctor's appointment in Plano. My wife's drain tube is not ready to be removed. She is doing better. In about four weeks, we'll have to see them again. She still has at-home IV antibiotics to take as well as other medicines.
I've been doing some "background" blogging (tweaking) and also some writing for a major story. I need to figure out how to tie some threads of the story together. This time, I think I'll forgo publishing an e-book and post straight to the blog. I write for fun, anyway, so it doesn't matter.
I did get an idea for a new story this very morning. Of course, I can't go into detail right now. The story was inspired by something I read a long time ago. I guess it might fall into the "horror" genre. I'm not sure at this point.
I got a new push mower yesterday. I haven't opened the box. As usual, the carrier left it at the wrong address.
