| The Old Homeplace - Author's Picture |
It was quite a weekend. The wife of one of our friends struck a feral hog on the highway. She's ok, but her brand-new car is now in the shop. We looked at the place where she hit it, and there were three dead hogs on the side of the road. Bad night for hogs and vehicles.
In the picture, two things are evident. First, my mom's yard needs mowing. The mower finally arrived today, so it no longer looks like a jungle. Second, there's a load of shingles in her yard. She's having to have a new roof installed. Six thousand bucks! Now, her window AC unit is tripping the breaker. Not sure what we're going to do about that.
I got some Star Wars stuff over the weekend. I ordered more from Amazon with the money I got for my birthday. At Walmart, I got an E-Wing fighter.
It's been too hot lately, and people who work outside have been getting too hot. I generally don't complain about the heat, and I won't. I'd rather be hot than cold.
I visited a historic cemetery today. All of the burials dated from the early to the middle 1800s. I'll post pictures in the future. I don't have any more news except to say that we found a terrapin in the driveway the other day. I got a picture that I'll post later. I have a lot to post, mostly in the future. I'm still working on my long story called 3820. It'll start appearing on the blog in August.
