I'm James Simpson, and I live in Dobbs City, Texas. My parents are Ray and Ellen Simpson. I was adopted by the Simpsons when I was 11 years old. I am now 17 and about to graduate from high school. I'll be attending the Dobbs Institute as soon as I can.
My biological parents were Dale and Cynthia Smith. For the first 11 or so years of my life, we lived in Big Creek, Oklahoma. I remember the big rocky hills and the beautiful trees of that state. I liked the area, and I enjoyed my home life until one (as they say) "fateful day."
School was ending, and the summer vacation was about to begin. My (birth) parents decided that I was old enough to stay at home by myself. I was given strict instructions on what I could or could not do. Namely, I was not allowed to roam the countryside or do anything adventurous. I was limited to the house and our yard.
I could not enter the woods. Mom, especially, spoke of the danger of brown bears. I had never seen a bear, but she was insistent. I acquiesced.
