She moved impossibly fast. The stake flew out of my hand as she struck me. Then I had a strange sensation, and I realized that I was falling.
I woke up in a dark room. I felt miserable. I heard Eliza's voice.
"Hunter, are you awake?"
"Yes," I replied. "But I seem to be paralyzed."
" You are. You are blind and immobile. I can, however, release you from your predicament. If you agree to my terms, I shall restore your health and allow you to live. I will also grant you a few powers that your Company cannot. In short, I need a Hunter to infiltrate the Company. Answer me now or lay there forever."
