"Very well," I said. My spirit was broken, and I was willing to do anything to be set free. "I accept."
"Rise," said the girl's voice. "Be awake and serve."
Later, I found myself awake in a dimly lit room. I had a bag of fluids running into my arm. Other than this, I felt fine.
Eliza came into the room. "I'm glad to see that you are awake. I will have many assignments for you, but for now you will be allowed to rest."
"How will I complete tasks if I'm a vampire?"
