The Gathering, Part 1
In an underground corridor, a brilliant blue light flickered, flashed, and then manifested. It lit a nearby cenote in blue light. A figure, pale white and gaunt, skinny but muscular, appeared from, seemingly, nowhere. The thing was a male, a male ghoul. It spoke an incantation:
"Nurazoth is a name like no other. His seat is in the center of the cosmos. His attention is nil. He cares not for djinn, man, beast, or any imagined deity, although he is considered to be the Creator of them all. Nurazoth sleeps, attended by the Zerzura who stand ready, floating, to fulfill his every desire - though, indeed, he truly requires neither assistance nor aid. Anyone who seeks him is a fool. Any requests made to him will not - and cannot - be heard. He slumbers forever, and cannot be bothered to undertake unto himself any task. His throne is black and his court is empty, save for those who minister unto him. It is those, the Court of the Zerzura who interpret his dreams and bring them into fruition."
Upon those words, the blue light flashed again. After the light flashed, four other figures came into view. The first being, the one who had spoken the incantation, spoke again. "My name is Cachexia, and I afflict many. I am the leader of The Order of Rending."
The second figure spoke. "I am Apoplex. I have struck down many. When I come calling, most will meet their doom. I am second in the Order of Rending, the second in The Clergy."
