Prayers for Peace and Unity and for The Families of Those No Longer with Us
On September 10, conservative speaker Charlie Kirk was assassinated at a debate at Utah Valley University. 33 hours later, his murderer was in custody. Mr. Kirk was shot in front of his wife and children. He had two daughters, a three-year-old and a one-year-old.
Five days later, we see hundreds of people losing their employment for making "negative" social media posts about Mr. Kirk. Some rejoiced and celebrated over the tragic event. For years, we've heard that we have the freedom of speech, but not freedom from consequences due to our speech. Now, those who stood on that truth are "on the other side." Those on the right often experienced cancel culture. Now, those rejoicing are getting cancelled. It's a sad situation, but we do remember that we're not free from consequences.
The individuals who contribute to 141 Productions offer our thoughts and prayers to the family of Charlie Kirk. We believe strongly in the First Amendment of the United States Constitution. We believe in Scripture, and we believe in the mission that Turning Point USA conducts and will no doubt continue to pursue, even in the absence of their founder. God bless Erika and Charlie's two young daughters. It wasn't fair. It wasn't right. But here we are. We offer prayers for peace and unity.
We also offer thoughts and prayers for the family of Iryna Zarutska. Iryna was a young refugee from war-torn Ukraine. She was brutally murdered on public transportation while returning home from her job at a pizzeria. No one lifted a finger to help her. Thankfully, her killer was also taken into custody. We're very sorry that this has happened to this young lady.
