Inquisitor of the Dead, Part 1

Inquisitor Of The Dead
Inquisitor of the Dead

Description: a tall dark-haired man wearing a general's uniform. He carries a sidearm and a sword. He is typically seen alone or with a single driver. He walks the sites of recent battles. What he is doing is unknown. What is known is that he is a spy for the Germans, and he is to be eliminated.

Bravo Company (of one of the Engineer General Service Regiments) was ahead of most of the infantry and armor. They had one infantry company to support them. I was embedded with them as an observer. I had another mission, of course, but it was classified.

The unit was preparing some kind of infrastructure when, by misfortune, it came under withering German machinegun fire. People were running everywhere and taking positions wherever they could be found. I climbed into the cab of a heavily armored bulldozer, and there I hunkered down and waited. I wasn't a soldier; I was a government agent.
