| The Big Screen TV |
Chief among the household items that I kept was the living room furniture. Washburn had, at some point, upgraded his living room with extremely nice rocking chairs and a sofa. He also had a 75-inch flatscreen TV, which I kept. I was very happy with the TV. I loved sitting in the rocking chair and channel surfing - at first.
About a month after I moved in, I noticed that I would get extremely cold when I was sitting in a certain chair. At first, I paid it no mind. It was December, and it was cold in December. But it didn't take long for me to realize that it was just the chair that was cold. The rest of the room was quite nicely heated.
I still attempted to ignore the chilly feelings I had when I was in that chair, and I usually sat there while covered with a blanket. One night, however, the rocker leaped violently forward and threw me and my blanket completely out of the chair and onto the floor. At that point, I finally admitted that something was wrong.
I had a female acquaintance who professed to be an empath and a medium. I spoke to her first, and I told her what had happened. Note here that I didn't tell her anything else about the house or the owner. She came over one evening to check out the house and see if she could do anything.
To make a long story short, nothing was accomplished. She blessed the house and sprinkled salt in certain areas. She also gave me some sage and advised that I should burn it throughout the house while uttering certain words that I cannot now remember. She said she felt a presence in the room, but she could divine no more at that time.
The psychic was unable to help me, which I discovered on another night when I was cast out of my chair and onto the floor once again. This time, I reached out to a religious friend of mine. He arranged to have a pastor come out and bless the house. The priest came out and did just that. He also advised me to find some crosses and hang them on the wall in the living room. Ultimately, he failed to help me, just like the psychic.
