The Big Screen TV, Part 5

The Big Screen TV
The Big Screen TV

"This is my new chair," she spat out, "and I sit here every day. I watch my programs every night at this time. But somehow, I don't recognize the room. My pictures are gone, and my lamps are gone. A stranger has taken over my brand-new chair! Get out of my house, now!" With that, Alma collapsed. Michael and I tended to her.

We all went to bed that night at my house. Nothing happened during the night. This was normal, as the late nights were always calm.

The next morning, I woke up to discover that Michael had gone into town to get some eggs, bacon, milk, and some orange juice. When he returned, Alma whipped up eggs to order and fried up some bacon and some sausage that I already had in the house. We all ate breakfast and reviewed the events of the night before.

Alma decided that she would attempt to recreate the events of the previous night. At the appropriate time (9 p.m.), she took a seat in the rocker and began to surf the TV channels. Around 9:30, there was a repetition of the violent expulsion from the chair. This time there was no "possessed" sounding voice, just an unceremonious ejection from the chair.

The next day, we ate breakfast together and once again reviewed the events of the previous evening. Alma said she was relatively sure that she could get to the bottom of my case, and also said we should try sitting in the chair one more time.
