Familiar

"As for your first question, I am she whom you were tasked with finding. I was born a vampire, and I am much older than I appear to be. The last person who set out to find me perished. From her, I discovered you. You and your organization, that is."

"Not my organization. I am simply an employee, a teacher. And I already knew what you are. I saw you at the party. You are as pale as a porcelain doll, or perhaps a cadaver. You seem unaffected by the cold weather. The mirror behind you does not reflect your image. I used my phone earlier in an attempt to catch you on video. Did you know that you can't be recorded? Again, I know what you are. I just needed you to confirm it."

"Interesting information," said Abigail. "It's too bad that you won't get to share it."

"Are you going to consume my blood, as though I were cattle? You will have to, I suppose. I will never give you any information."

"I believe you. But it doesn't matter. When the drug in your wine incapacitates you, you shall come with me. We'll talk more later."
