The Quake, Part 2
The second coffin under consideration was that of Mr. Moses Bridges. He too had been a (fledgling) vampire in life, though he was dispatched fairly quickly. He was also eliminated by our hunters.
The earthquake that struck the area had unfortunate results, as stated. The coffins of both of the previously mentioned individuals collapsed. As a result of this, the stakes that ensured their continued inactivity were removed from their bodies, and both vampires returned to life.
It is conjectured that Agatha Gill attacked and brutally destroyed Mr. Bridges while they were both in the crypt. She then escaped from the tombs. Evidence of her possible escape was eventually discovered and reported to the authorities as a "missing body." The authorities, who work with us in matters of public safety, reported this to the Institute. It then became a priority for hunters from the Dobbs Institute's Capture-Detain-Control Unit (CDCU).
